Here are some things you can do in People:

Create groups of students - The groups can be created for projects, activities, study groups and assignments.

Edit Display Names - (Note: Students can do this themselves, too.)

Add T.A.s and Observers - This is a great way to add a peer or chair to your course to exchange ideas or to complete a required evaluation.
